The Jesters 2

So here's the second part. The thirds coming soon and then who knows. I suck at updating. *sigh* Oh well.

A small, female figure dressed in servants garb with a floppy hat pulled down low over her face slid around a corner, back pressed against the wall. Looking to the left she started to back up slowly to the right. Seeing no one the girl let a small, satisfied smirk form on her face.

Turning with a sense of triumph, she stopped, frozen, as dread replace elation and her smirk fell off her face. There, standing between her and the doorway to freedom, were two men she knew all too well.

“Saitoh, Souma, fancy seeing you here,” she said shakily, a sheepish look crossing her face.

Raising one eyebrow, a skill the girl desperately wanted to learn, Saitoh just looked at her. Sighing softly, she looked over her jailors as all of her plans seemed to crumble around her.

Saitoh, a palace guard she had grown up with, would be the one to work on. Souma, for all his powerful magic, would have been easy to convince if he had been alone.

Turning her sapphire eyes towards Saitoh’s gold ones, she took a deep breath and prepared her ‘persuasive’ face. She never got the chance.

“So tell me, Princess Touka, exactly where were you planning to go dressed like that?” drawled Saitoh, Souma laughing softly behind him. They all knew where she had been going, after all.

Pouting, Touka decided persuasion could go to the devil and started to whine. “Come on Saitoh, pleeease! It’s my kingdom; I should at least be able to see it!”

Putting on her ‘puppy-dog’ eyes, she turned her baby blues on Souma, begging silently that he help her convince the stubborn guard. Green eyes sparkling in amusement, Souma leaned closer to Saitoh and started to whisper.

Touka looked hopefully between the two as Saitoh began to frown before sighing. “Fine, but we will be going with you,” he finally said, glaring firmly.

Ignoring his glare altogether, Touka did a little happy dance before noticing the clothing they were wearing.

Glancing at them dubiously, she asked “You’re not going out like that are you?” Rolling his eyes, Saitoh began to wish he had just let her leave and have Souma follow the girl.

Twenty minutes, and several outfits, later they were all on their way to the city.
