The Jesters 3

I got bored again once my fanfiction wore out, so here's part 3.

Reiko stood in the shadows watching the conspicuous trio as they walked through town. The group consisted of a girl who stopped periodically to point at all the ‘wonders’ excitedly and two men. They were all dressed in servants’ attire, but it was obvious that they were all of a different class.

The man on the right, the girl had called him Saitoh, was about 5’11” with dark brown hair, golden eyes and a lean but muscled body. His eyes were alert, checking out everyone around him without being obvious about it, and his aura practically screamed guard.

On the left of the girl was a man that was delicately built, but it would be a mistake to underestimate him. His hair was a dark, blood red, pulled into a pony-tail, and his eyes were an emerald green.

Souma, the girl was way too loud when addressing both of the men, would have appeared normal, if out of place, if it hadn’t been for the fact that she always had her sight turned on.

The gift of sight, though not actually considered magic, allowed the user to see magic whether it be a persons or an objects. Although there were some shields that could block out the sight, it looked like a wall to those with sight so it was apparent if you had one or not. Also, it only worked if the power of the shield was stronger than the sight the person had.

So far, Reiko had never met a shield that could block her sight.

The best thing about this gift, however, was that it could not be seen or sensed by anyone, not even another sight user. This was a good thing, considering that this particular man had the strongest magical signature that she had ever seen.

There was only one person in Rusana that had a magical signature this strong. Which led to only one question; what was the Royal Magician doing guarding some girl?

Of course, only one answer made sense.

Shifting her gaze to the girl, now bent over a jewelry stand, Reiko let a smirk curl the edges of her lips. “Well well, isn’t this an interesting little development,” she said softly, a calculating glint in her eyes.

Turning away from the group Reiko went to warn her gang that no one was to bother them. After all, it wouldn’t be prudent for them to get arrested for robbing the princess, now would it?
