So I can't believe I actually finished this part, cause I usually don't, but I figured I'd take adantage of the peace and quiet since I'm going home tonight. And I'm happy about it since there is only so much time you can spend alone in a house with only two dogs to keep you company. Apparently, a week is my limit. ^-^;;
To say that Saitoh was surprised that no one had tried to rob them would be an understatement. The princess, even in servant clothes, stuck out like a sore thumb with her exclamations of delight. No servant, even one from a different kingdom, would act in such an obvious manner. It was therefore obvious, given her nature, that they must have some kind of money and yet no one had bothered them.
It was a curious development.
“Saitoh!” looking down the guard met sapphire eyes. “I’m hungry.” Repressing a sigh, he could practically feel the headache forming, Saitoh glanced around to see if there was any food establishment around. Souma was one step ahead of him, however, and Lead them all towards a pub that looked decent with a sign overhead proclaiming it to be Triumph.
Following the other two inside, he looked around warily as the place went silent and everyone turned to look at who had come in.The people inside seemed to look them over before going back to their conversations, though it was noticably quiter than before.
Seeing the only table that didn’t have people at it, the three sat down, leaving one chair open next to them. Touka, seemingly oblivous to the quick glances being thrown their way, began to hum as she perused the menu.
A waitress came over to them, pulling her dress top down even lower as she scented money, came over and took their orders. After only one mishap, where Touka had tried to order an alcoholic beverage, the waitress left with a pout when it became clear that the two men just weren’t interested.
The door opening once again caught Saihtoh’s attention as a waif like boy came through, obviously looking for someone. He had short, spikey black hair and wide, innocent looking crimson eyes and seemed to be around 12 years old.
He was dressed simply in a light blue shirt with sleeves that competley engulfed his hands they were so long. Long black shorts were under that with, and here Saitoh blinked to make sure he wasn’t seeing things, a scruffy looking stuffed bunny in the pocket.
Shaking his head at how someone that grew up on the streets could still apparently be that innocent at his age, Saitoh watched as he went over to the bar and began talking to the manager of the place. He could pick up enough of the conversation to know that the kid, Sano, was looking for someone called Reiko and that the manager had agreed to send someone to look for him.
Sano beamed up at the man before turning and looking around, most likely for someplace to sit and wait. Apparently, Touka had come to that conclusion as well, since she suddenly stood up and waved the boy over. “We have an extra seat if you need one,” she chirped pleasantly.
And that was how Saitoh got stuck with not one, but two children who apparently got along like a house on fire and never ran out of things to talk about.
Great.
