So this is the lull in the vacation where I reflect on the amazing three days I've just had, and look forward to next amazing three. Nick and I had the most fun and relaxing time on the Cape and I have already planned our next trip back.

We got to our hotel in Hyannis Monday afternoon and after settling in headed out to Main Street where we walked up and down the drag checking out the cute shops and cafes. Nick's mom brought her chihuahua Fanny with us, and she has a special dog stroller that we took everywhere. Fanny's in some pretty rough shape (she's blind, diabetic and has a broken jaw) and we got stopped about every five minutes by people wanting to look at the cute baby, only to realize it was a dog. We had a ton of laughs over that.

After eating some yummy clam rolls we headed to Yarmouth and walked along one of the beaches. I waded out in the ocean up to my knees and dug my toes into the wet sand, which is one of the best feelings in the world. When we'd had enough of the beach we headed out for some food and mini-golf. I had wanted to go here but the line was ridiculously long so we went to a different one called Putter's Paradise. As soon as I saw the first hole I knew we had made the right choice--there was a humongous pink octopus wearing a tiara right in the middle of the green.

Yesterday we drove out to Sandwich to visit the Heritage Museum and Gardens, where Nick and I went on an adventure deep in the woods and ended up by a beautiful lake, where I was promptly bitten by mosquitoes. Since there were no fireworks happening we went down to Hyannisport and walked around looking at the boats--my favorite was the pirate boat, which sadly had sailed its last adventure for the day. Nick and I instead hopped on a sunset harbor cruise that took us out by Squaw Island and the Kennedy compound, which was absolutely gorgeous. The waves were a little rougher than normal and poor Nick looked a little green but I loved it.

So that was the relaxing part of the vacation. Tomorrow morning we're getting on a bus to NYC for the crazed fun part. I can't wait to see all my girls (and see the Dada exhibit at MoMA)!
