There's always something in the way...
what's the difference between a "sign" and an obstacle to overcome? How can we even tell them apart?

well... u can say that first comes the obstacle.. and after the obstacle the sign wil be shown...
thats one way of looking at it
OR that fact that u actually conquered the obstacle can be the sign you were looking for...
just keep being persistent and dont give up! patience my friend...

If we are talking about a sign is telling you what to do or not to do, it will only deter you from what you want for a quick moment because a sign is like a suggestion but you can proceed with your life shortly after because it is just a sign. An obstacle is harder and reqires more work because you have to deal with it, but defintetely worth the wait and the hard work to see the results of what you've over come.
