Dear Yuletide Writers,

Because of the sudden illness of my father, I wasn't able to finish my letter in time, and I'm so sorry if that caused my writer any problems. :( I've been encouraged to finish and link it in case someone might like to write treats for my fandoms.

General things:

I love gen fic most of all. I do read pairings, and I enjoy ( Read more... )

I am suddenly all FLAILYSQUEE to see evidence that someone not only knows of The Sorceress & the Cygnet but likes it. I ADORE THAT BOOK and I am so sad I no longer have a copy. :(

I don't seem to ever run into anyone who likes or even knows of McKillip beyond Riddlemaster of Hed!

I LOVE the Cygnet duology. The two books have been published as one volume now. I have a copy of both, but I can't find either one because my books are still in boxes. :(

I adore Patricia McKillip, and I actually have not read Riddlemaster of Hed. The first book I ever read by her was when I was much, much younger - it was called The Changeling Sea, which, gorgeous. And then later, I found the Cygnet books. I adore Nyx Ro and the way magic works in her world, and I love McKillip's dream-like style. I know a lot of people find her style difficult to read, but it suits me perfectly.

Winter Rose is another favorite of mine. ^_^

Yessss I love her style too. Dreamlike is exactly the word I think of it as. She's a huge influence for me. :D

Riddlemaster is a decent trilogy but imo it's not as good as her later works. I wish I could find them more easily, I keep only seeing them in hardcover. :| I lucked out with a bunch of them when I lived in Portland because the library had them ALL, although inexpicably in the children's section. Winter Rose, from what I remember, was -great-.
