THIS is a very good point (it even made me stop reading and start writing the comment before I forgot!): I do like stories in which (former) het partners of the slash couple deal with the new circumstances. It’s an interesting aspect that isn’t explored often enough. I'll try to remember that. It's a very interesting idea. :D
And yessssssssss, there's not enough good femmeslash fics. And I am also guilty of having not written any. XD
The entire time I filled out the meme, I kept thinking "oh, I need to need write more of this... and of that..."
The problem with femmeslash is that I have problems seeing femmeslash potential in the things I read. Original characters aren't any problem but in fandoms? oO I recently saw a mention of Linda/Yoko femmeslash... I wonder if there's a way to write that in a believable way. It probably would be quite a challenge (and result in quite a few flames)... XD
Oh well, I just hope I get around to writing stories for the ideas I now have in my head...
And yes, I'm notorious for my messed up daily rhythm... :-)
(Sorry for the epically, EPICALLY LATE COMMENT! D:)
Yeah, there's a lack of strong female characters around, imo. That's what makes it hard to find good femmeslash (or any at all, sometimes). Linda/Yoko? At one point I was thinking about Paul/Linda/Jane. xD But hmm....I haven't got any ideas but if you think of something, then write it and post it I will so read it! :D
Yes...how's that fic you mentioned going? The one where John's first life was shitter than his second (which is the one we know) - I think it was that?
To be honest, I've never really thought about why it seems so difficult to find possible femmeslash pairings. I guess you're right, there is a lack of strong female characters, or for that matter, of female main characters at all, at least in the genres I tend to read (I admit I'm guilty of doing this in my original fiction as well, though I blame it on not wanting to write only slash and feeling that writing heterosexual women is a challenge). And those that do exist are usually so blatantly heterosexual (oh, damn, that trap! I guess I'll have to use this icon then...) that slashing them is just ooc
