Ever since his defeat at the hands of the mysterious vigilante Darkdevil, during which his soul was ignited by the punishing hellfire summoned by the hero, he has been reduced to a near-comatose wreck. And yet, Norman knows better. He knows the Nexus and the goings-on therein, and he knows far too well Otto's spiritual sensitivities. It's not difficult to figure that 'assault by demonic youth' and 'mysterious near-coma' are more than likely connected.

And he wants to fix it. Wants fiercely to fix it, and see his employee (his, damn them all, and he'll make Reilly pay for touching his property) well again. But he has only so much sway in the upper eschelons of the CSA and connected agencies, and supernatural experts and resources are rare anyway. Certainly there are none to be spared on a single aging supervillain on a team 'run' by one of Tony Stark's pet projects.

Norman, obviously, will need to go elsewhere for help.

Just asking the Nexus as a whole, of course, is out -- not only would it be terribly indiscreet, but the security risk would be more than any of his superiors would be pleased with.
