I sort of feel obliged to post this, now.

1. Leave me a comment saying anything random, like your favorite lyric to your current favorite song. Or your favorite kind of sandwich. Something random. Whatever you like ( Read more... )

I prefer memes that demand some thought.

I don't really like the internet or memes as a whole, but... such is life.

1)Where have you been lately? I have seen little of you... are you well?
2)Are you in good health?
3)I have not spoken enough with you recently to think of many topical questions, so please forgive me. What is your favorite novel?
4)What is your least favorite novel?
5)Why do you think people bother with this sort of thing?

1) I've been at the house in the city, and not in the Nexus much. There's so much to do to keep the city running and John and I are it, so I'm very busy. Too busy. But I have Sarah- Have you met Sarah? I'm fine ( ... )

Sarah Brannigan(?).... I may have met her once or twice. She seems like a decent person, which doesn't surprise me. It is good to hear that you and she are there for each other, and that your heart problems are under control, these days.

The Wizard of Oz is one of those children's books that is far more clever than it initially seems. A lot of the most beloved children's authors worked to make their books like that, mixing an appealing story with some philosophical truth or elements of satire. As for 1984, it is, in my opinion, a book that should be read, no matter how painful it is.

Perhaps people just like getting attention in any shape and form.

Or when I'm 104
and banned from the Cavern
may my mistress
catching me in bed with her daughter
and fearing for her son
cut me up into little pieces
and throw away every piece but one

That's... cheerful. What is it from?

1)Are you from Earth? What country do you call home? I've never been able to place your dialect.
2)Your religion, from what little I have observed, seems to be a synthesis of numerous different systems of belief... rather like Santeria. Do you believe that there is any danger in following more than one faith?
3)Is your religion and/or discipline of any real fixed title or address, or something you have come by alone?
4)Who was that man who lives in the wasteland? The one who provided the wood you needed to properly cremate Funebris...
5)What causes the dead to continue an animated existance rather than the release of death, when they have some choice in the matter? Is it simply the same thing that compels the living to continue our own painful existance?

It's from a poem called 'Let Me Die A Youngman's Death', and it is rather cheery.

1. Yes, I'm from Earth. Although my father was Canadian by way of Nigeria, I was born in Tunisia and moved around through most of Northern Africa as a child. I came to American when I was about sixteen.

2. Not particularly, no. In fact, I think it helps one to be more accepting of other faiths.

3. I was raised in a relatively traditional manner, but most of that went out the window when I came to America. On my first day, my high school was infected and taken over by Silent Hill and that incident helped me find a more meaningful, personal religion.

4. That's not something that is safe to get into.

5. Usually, yes. Unfinished business, the desire to have more, redemption, whatever. The main difference is that with the dead the drives tend to become streamlined and simplified as time goes on. A human divides their will in a thousand different ways, but the dead want one thing and one thing only.

It sounds like your origins are quite diverse... I suppose it's played a major part in making you the person you are today, though. I'm glad to have you as a friend and ally, even if I cannot always understand the events that surround you in your line of work. Is that beast that appears in the Sanctuary from time to time a friend of yours? I was a little surprised to hear it talk, but it had already proven itself amicable and intelligent.....

That is a rather frightening prospect. I'm glad to be alive, despite my own experiences, but I hope that I never have to worry about anything after I have died for good.

Speaking of obligations...

After what I did to you, I am obliged to answer any questions you have.

I am going on on a limb and guessing that you are from the future of my world... or a future of my world, anyhow.

1)What is your relationship to Daredevil, anyways? I did not know that the hero had any supernatural powers, himself.
2)How did you become possesed by a demon in the first place?
3)I imagine that you have heard of the situation on spinsaweb 's world... did such events occur in your history as well? And if so... what happened to him?
4)Whose child are you? Daredevil's? I know that your name is familiar to me...
5)What makes you think that I expect you to answer these questions, despite your offer? I am analog to your enemy, after all.

Ding, ding, ding. Johnny, tell him what's he won.

Anyway. Your answers, Doctor.

It sounds like your past is quite heavily entwined with that of the Parker family. Reilly was May Parker's last name, and the name chosen by Spider-man's clone, Ben Reilly.... would I be mistaken if I assumed you were his child, and another victim of that madman, Kaine?

The few times I have encountered your father in the Nexus, he seemed like a decent person. I suppose the same could be said for Peter Parker, though.

It's been a while since we've last talked. Are you going to be alright from whatever happened the other day?

octopus_hubris February 5 2008, 05:35:29 UTC
The other day... you were there, weren't you. I'd been a little dazed at the time. I am still a little numb from the shock I recieved, but in much better shape than my harness... unfortunately.

1)You are an ESPer like your sister, I would imagine. Has your ESP ever helped you win a case?
2)How would you define the primary role of a Defense Attourney? Phoenix seemed confused by the idea of offering his services to a client who was guilty of committing a crime, though he is a bit naiive and idealistic, even when it comes to his career.
3)Where does the Fey family come from? Maya and Pearl wear traditional-looking clothing, and I know that the magatama is a prehistoric symbol of Japan and Korea. Was there something special about the place your ancestors immigrated to?
4)What is your favorite (fiction) book?
5)Has your religious self-exploration helped you so far, or has it simply left you with more questions? I keep wondering if I am too stubborn for my own faith.

It is alright. The person who caused my injuries was another involved with the organization I am in, and he is.... quite a troubled young man. It was better that you and Phoenix not try to help him, as he would not have taken well to any more interference ( ... )

If a tree falls in the forest and lands on a mime, does anyone care?

Reply

octopus_hubris February 6 2008, 03:45:57 UTC
I'm not sure why people think that hating mimes is really that clever.

1)Have you learned anything from the mistakes you've made over the past while, such as your adventure with the caffiene pills?

2)How developed is your sight? Can you see things at the atomic level?

3)What is your favorite subject at school?

4)What has kept Headmaster Snape from strangling you?

5)What is the strangest thing you've ever seen?

1) I have learned not to do it again, that's for sure. I've learned not to...scare people that bad, I guess. And I learned that charcoal has a medicine use.

2) I can see things at a cellular level and things in the cells. It's fun to watch them divide. I can see things in the cells like the little power house things and the big digestive foldy thing and the smoother digestive foldy thing. But then if I look much closer it all gets pretty dark at that point and I get a headache.

3) I like temporal mechanics with the Doctors. And art class. Especially when we spent an hour as kitties and then did an art project based on our experiences.

4) I believe it's his own policy against the use of corporal punishment in his school that keeps him from causing me bodily harm, up to but not limited to choking me.

5) I looked, like with my powers, at a person who was a ghost. I'm not doing that again.

You and Mr. Wagner seem very good together, but part of being in a relationship is learning to care for yourself. Your significant other may be able to protect you from monsters or criminal masterminds, but if he cannot protect you from your own rash behaviour....

It's strange, how diverse the mutations caused by the 'X' gene are. You may not be able to fly or turn into a human fireball, but your sight would be a boon in a biological science or medical career. You and the other children here are very fortunate to be given the unique experience of a Nexus-based school, as well. Whether you decide to become an Oncologist or the next Doctor, I am confident that your experiences with the surreal will give you an advantage in the field you choose.
