Congrats! I was sure that Hazel was going to be a boy - mostly because I was in love with that little TV1 boy at the time. :) But then I had amnio so I knew for certain she was girl pretty early on which I quite liked. Though I can see the attraction of the surprise too!
I was so ready with my cutting comments for when people tried to touch my tummy but no-one did. I think I was slightly disappointed! The neat thing though was the way other women reacted to it, I could see them look and smile and I could tell they were getting all nostalgic. It's like you've joined some sort of club isn't it? You don't realise it's a club when you are childless, but suddenly all these strange women are relating to you in a completely different way and I thought it was really cool.
(sorry the booties are the wrong colour, they were from when I was pregnant.)
God, I hate that little TV1 boy with a passion ;) I'm really glad we know now, it means I can get used to the idea and deal with any preconceptions of what boys are like. I think I thought that having a girl child would be "easier" because she'd be like me, but now I don't think that's necessarily the case.
Heh, I've already started watching small children with their parents (oops, that sounds a bit dodgy, doesn't it!) and all the older ladies at work have been reminiscing about bringing up their children :) It is kinda nice, like becoming part of a whole different culture.
I have to disagree with that. They're just not as strongly gendered as a lot of people make them out to be but boys are definately mummy's boy for the first few years even if Dad is a highly involved SNAG daddy.
heh, most of the things I've started crocheted have actually been blue, just because that seems to be what yarn I have hanging around. Going to start on some multicoloured creations over the weekend, though :)
I think P might put the kibosh on Mary as a name - he already thinks that most of my choices are too "girly"!
Bah - P needs an attitude adjustment. I'm about the least girliest girl you could find, therefore Mary is a very manly name.
::still hoping for snow which really is about the most romantic weather in which to be pregnant and crocheting baby clothes. Pity that being pregnant isn't all that romantic. More . . . um . . . earthy . . I would guess.::

A friend of mine who has a boy said that she found it very strange to know that she was growing a penis in there.

Now you have to think of names. Mary is a nice name for a boy, don't you think?
