So today I sat down with a friend for a few hours to work on some tasks while yet again re-watching Firefly. I have admitted to her the task at hand: getting Mal and Jayne together in a convincing, sincere, romance. Ooh, I even have an arguably M/J icon!

I think that Mal projects onto Jayne everything he wants to hide about himself--if he stops doing that, there'll be space for Jayne to expand.

BTW, that story you sent me is really good. I haven't had time to finish it, but it had me laughing out-loud at points. I most certainly did not consider it poo or anything close.

Well if you're a woman (I'm being presumptuous, but that's my nature), you're supposed to bash yourself constantly. Otherwise other people have to do it for you and it takes all the class out of constructive criticism, honestly.
