I don't have much patience for Facebook anymore, unless I'm posting things that are very superficial or occasionally I'll link to something politically charged to put my extended family on edge. :) Blogging requires at least a small amount of reflection, and it leaves a record of my thoughts that I might want to share with our kids someday. Of course I'll be editing a large portion of those thoughts, particularly from age 20 - 25.
My oldest lj posts are ny far my most favorite - small remembrances of times past & I too miss the actual writing & caring involved with personal letter writing. I had trailed off from lj because like any online expression of emotions it caused problems and seemed as though I wasn't reaching or being reached by a desirable audience. I am glad to see some people are coming back because I feel like its just a better place to be and a better way to keep up.
