[Anyone on a stroll through the woods, or even in town might see a chef out today - a very quiet one, dressed in a New Feather's garb and lacking all of his usual exuberance

[Food is half the reason why Amelia leaves the apartment--between that and the growing crowd, she's definitely missing the space she had when she'd lived alone. She's heading towards the very place Sanji mentions in the journal, although she doesn't pay particular attention to the entry. She doesn't know the guy, after all.
Which is why she doesn't recognize him when she comes upon him floating around. Amelia stops and watches for a moment, then slowly shakes her head.]
Amelia hesitates when Sanji asks for his name, however. With how close she came to spilling the truth to Legato, she's not keen on letting too many people know just where she's from. But still, if it means finding out he's okay somehow...]
Wolfwood. He's a preacher who carries a massive cross.
... Wolfwood? [And Sanji's eyebrows lift in obvious surprise. She spoke with such care about the other that he doesn't doubt her words, but his first thoughts are probably betrayed by his expression - if she knows the preacher, does she know Vash? Milly? Is she from their world? And why act so hesitant besides?
The curiosity is pushed aside for the moment; the lady asked him a question.]
Wolfwood's fine, last I saw of him. Not a scratch. [His mouth twitches] Just wanted a cigarette.
[Guess what, Sanji? That actually gets a small smile out of Amelia.]
He's okay. [Or he was then. Still, it's better than not knowing anything, and Amelia lets out a long breath.] Thank God.
[Now Amelia just has to let Vash and the others know. Which...she can't do exactly, with Sanji right there.] Thanks. [But when she thinks about it, that reaction isn't one of complete disinterest, is it? So Amelia looks at Sanji with a bit more interest.]
[So she can smile... okay, well, Sanji figured she could, but it's still a nice sight to see.
His curiosity's come back with a vengeance, though. Wolfwood and this lady are no mere acquaintances by the sounds of it - a friendship born either in Luceti, or on a different planet entirely. The question is which.]
Heh. Known him for months now. [He speaks with exasperation and amusement, all rolled into one.] But I knew Vash and Meryl-chan first. [It's no coincidence those names are dropped.]
That's right~! [And... her confusion sparks Sanji's. He starts explaining without realizing it, because this isn't the first time someone's been curious/surprised to hear another syllable attached to someone's name.]
Ah, I called her Meryl-chan. The "chan" is a suffix where I come from - like a term of respect and friendship, usually reserved for women.
[He seems sincere. And he did tell her about Wolfwood.]
Me too. [Please don't let this be a mistake.] I'm Amelia.
Oh. [That...isn't what Amelia's been expecting. Especially since respect and friendship aren't what come to mind when Vash calls her that.] I guess Vash picked it up from you.
[What. What. This face is suddenly all kinds of not impressed, and it's not because she gave him his name] ... Vash uses it.
[It's said frankly, but there's a question hidden in there.] Does he by chance only use it on you? [And stripped of the "respect" and "friendship" parts?]
Thought so. That shitty Broom Head. [Now, how does he explain this? He will certainly waste no tears selling his friend out.]
I'm afraid it's less a term of respect coming from him. In some cases it's like a form of mockery. [God, he can just hear Bon Clay's obnoxious laugh, thinking about examples]
He probably used it because you didn't know what it meant, and it poked fun at me at the same time.
Which is why she doesn't recognize him when she comes upon him floating around. Amelia stops and watches for a moment, then slowly shakes her head.]
Is that supposed to be normal for you?
[Because it's Luceti. Normal greatly varies.]

I can try to be of some service...
What's his name? What does he look like? [he saw some, but not many in his prison]

Sanji's right to think Amelia and Wolfwood know each other. Also, those names are good ones to drop. Amelia's still wary, but she relaxes somewhat.]
So you're friends.
[...But wait. Something is odd here.]
...That name. What did you call Meryl?

Yeah. At least from what I can tell. [Amelia is going to have to hurt Vash for this. She senses it.] Why?

That idiot. [Amelia really should've known.] What about flirting? Do people use it to flirt?

Only some idiot shithead would belittle a woman like that. [-- Oh god, don't tell him]
Vash didn't tell you this, did he?

[Amelia slams her hands on the table rather forcefully as she suddenly stands up. Looks like dinner has been forgotten.]
No, he just started calling me that name, and kept talking about stupid things like he always does.

... Should I make your meal to go then, Amelia-san?
