So yeah, Rich Harden's shutout last night that was almost a no-hitter? I had the good fortune of seeing it live at the Coliseum with kaottic97 and a bunch of his friends (btw, last time I saw Harden, he pitched seven innings of the 16-0 shutout v. the Giants ( Read more... )

My father in law was at one of Kofax's no-no's back in the day. His father used to always leave at the 7th inning....they are Dodger fans after all....

So after the 6th inning his Dad looks at him and asks, 'are you ready to go?'

Luckily he had enough sense to be joking.

Oh please... Giants fans are notorious leavers too. But I suppose you're going to get all righteous about leaving in the 8th instead of the 7th, or something.

When I was living in Boston, I had tickets to a Yankees-Red Sox game. Unfortunately, I had to be out of town for whatever reason, so I grudgingly gave them to my cousin, who - unlike me - is a HUGE Sox fan. Mike Mussina was on the hill, and he pitched a perfect game, all the way until there was one out in the 9th, when Carl Bleeping Everett hit a double off him for the only hit of the game. My cousin said that Fenway, shockingly, was actually pulling for Mussina.

I guess I'd be more upset if he had actually thrown the perfect game and I had missed it. Still, I was pretty bummed.

Excuse me, I checked, and it was two strikes on Everett, with two outs in the ninth. NOW I remember why I was so bummed.
