I'm sorry, I thought Watchmen was better than Maus. I'm glad that it's getting the recognition that it deserves.

well, I can't say I've read Maus, so I can't render full judgement.

Watchmen is very hard to beat, especially as a graphic novel. I suppose you could novelize Watchmen and it would stand allright on the virtue of its plot and depth of characters. However, a lot would be lost with regards to creative use of the graphic novel medium. Just the use of the pirate comic in tandem with the actual story was one of the most brilliantly done devices I've ever seen/read.

I agree completely, especially considering how vague and tenuous the connections were, sometimes. It was really worthy of being recognized in the top 100.
