I finally got around to renaming my LJ account. I've been meaning to do so for quite some time, but it just...never happened until now. Frankly the old name was a tad...well, 'embarrassing' is a little strong, but I wasn't happy with it. It's perturbing how many people think saying something grossly unfair or incorrect makes it reality. "X group is all a bunch of terrorists!", "Y group is equal, we just don't want them to marry or have the same rights as us!".
Another incarnation of Transformers? Good to see it's still going. I hope it's not going in the same way Power Rangers is still going, though.

I was actually considering adding '654,' but changed my mind. Despite the nostalgia I'm not THAT attached to random numbers I inserted at the end of my name because 'Kagome' was taken!
People are really attached to simplifications and compartmentalization, I guess. Addressing nuances or acknowledging logic failure (like the 'Y group is equal but unable to marry' thing you mentioned) is HARD, so best to avoid it,
Transformers seems to actually improve with age, thankfully. As attached as I am to some aspects of the 80's continuity it just...wasn't that good, even compared to other shows from that era. Beast Wars in the 90's was quite a bit better, and Transformers Animated and Transformers Prime were/are both very strong shows. As a franchise it's not limping along the way Power Rangers is, no.

Do you still have to pay to change it?

Yes, you still do have to pay to change it (or have someone pay for you by giving you a token). It was $15.00, which is...a lot, but I was really tired of the old name.
