A functioning computer!

Can you guess who has already broken her self imposed rule to not eat or drink anything near her fancy new gaming computer...? It would kind of suck if I were to spill coke all over everything before I've had a chance to play anything on it, but I'm weak and love my caffeine ( Read more... )

nonsense, video games, computer junk

I promised myself I won't buy Mass Effect 3 until it's below £20 but nnngh, so tempted. I have a deal with myself - I'll buy it if Joker is a romantic option for maleShep :P

I preorded the Collector's Edition because....yeah, weak (and that was back when I could afford it).

I'd LOVE for Joker to be a LI for both male and female Shepard. He's been a lovable fixture of the franchise since day one, so why the Hell not!

If he's an option for femShep I'll finish the game again, just so I could have him. I just... I went from Ewing over Seth Green to being totally in love. Madness!

It really is a great role for Seth Green. I've always sort of liked Seth's awkward charm, but this is one of the few roles where I can separate him from his character.

Thanks! I love it to bits. I've only tried non demanding games on it so far (The Sims 3, which wouldn't even run on my old computer, and looked pretty terrible on my sister's) and it just breezes along. Eventually I'll work up to games that require more 'heavy lifting' but for now I'm just basking in the glory of a brand new computer with no viruses or clutter.

I SO understand you!

I remember that my old computer refused to let me play several games. They would start, and a few seconds late the screen would freeze or I'd get an error message, and no amount of tech assistance could help. I tried different settings, I tried patches, I tried disinstalling other programs that might have gone in conflict... Nothing worked.

Then I got a new computer, and just like that, all problems vanished. One click, and the games would run smooth as oil.

Say, if your computer can now handle more recent games, would you care to try Portal? It was state-of-the-art back when it was published, but it's a 2007 game, so nowadays even a moderately decent computer should be able to run it fine ( ... )

I was actually thinking of buying the Orange Box off Steam, with Portal in mind since I already have TF2 and while Half Life 2 is supposedly really good it's not something I'd ordinarily consider on its own.

I wouldn't mind taking the game off your hands. It has been on my 'I should try this' for a while (along with the Silent Hill series, the Prince of Persia games and a few others...

I really need to check out the Steam store more often. Maybe I can find something to share.

...I need a new gaming computer. T_T

I actually liked Warrior Within. Two Thrones kind of weirded me out. They recast all the actors except for the Prince. (Who they... re-...re-cast back to the actor from the first game... after they recast him for the second game...) The Dark Prince was fun, but they turned the villain into kind of a goof and made my favourite character into a wimpy Oracle instead of the petty demi-goddess she was in 2. Also the Dahaka was awesome.

But uh, yeah... they kind overdid it on the swearing, the gore and the T&A... plot was neat, though.

Anyway, ME3 is pretttyy awesome.

Oh, hey! I've been trying to get on AIM to talk, but for some reason they're not sending me a verification email (I've tried twice). Frustrating.

I don't like an over-abundance of T&A. Boo.

It is pretty awesome, isn't it? I like the little bits of humour and sweetness that keep it from getting too dark and soul crushing.

That's bizarre. I remember replying to this...

No AIM... boooo. Get that working, miss. We need to discuss the awesomeness of Wrex and Mordin.

And eh, I don't mind abundance of T&A usually. I'm not particularly interested in it, but if the character is good, I don't care. I don't think it ruins anything.

I just wish ME3 had a more detailed ending. T_T

I've been having a lot of strange issues with LJ, for example I can't seem to find your latest post.

I don't know why, but it's refusing to send me a verification email. I'll try again soon .

I think gratuitous T&A can ruin some things, but I'm just getting tired of the heterosexual male gaze in general.
