it's getting crazy hot here in the desert. i suppose, of course, it's to be expected, but this is my first arizona summer since 2001 and i have become slightly less hardcore. what i have done, remarkably, was decide that i was going to walk to work. it's about two miles to my new job from my place--which doesn't sound crazy, but is a tad nuts ( Read more... )

1. it is very dangerous to wash yourself with gay men, they get all touchy feely and tend to passive-aggressively criticise your loofah technique (too stiff-wristed)

haha i forgot all about what poof might mean in australia. that sentence is a lot more fun now!

i have word that the baby is quite sick tonight, so we should both ring her tomorrow--poor thing! just a stomach bug, but still unpleasant.

the emu is here, but might be a bit worse for wear due to heat stress. we shall see.

I can confirm that Pollita is indeed quite sick. This probably makes Audrey look like a schizo in addition to a Law-and-Order-addicted sad sack, but in actuality it´s Mike responding from Guatemala. Pollita has come down with a 24-hour bug that seems to be making the rounds of her Spanish school classmates. But the important thing is that I appear to have made it through unscathed, though my stool was worryingly soft at last check. ¡Viva Guatemala! ¡Recuerde Arbenz!

oh no! sickypants! that is not good to hear. i will try and battle the fucking madness that is south america's telecommunications network to get through to her poor little stomach.
not wilted emu! that's terrible! hooray that it made it though, that's bloody good.
