Some wedding photos, more than two weeks after it all went down. Thanks heaps to all of you who came; it meant so much to us to have you there. To those who wanted to come but couldn't: you were on our minds. Those who were there but didn't want to be: your surliness did not go unnoticed. And to those who neither went nor wanted to go: ( Read more... )

Great pics. So i love how all the groomsmen wore different shaded suits, that's so pomo of you guys. And Mike are those shoes vintage? you're too hip!

Good eye there, Chicken--the suits are not all the same shade. Not only that, but in some cases (i.e., me and Al), the jacket and pants don't match. I worked pretty hard to make that happen, so I'm glad somebody noticed.

And I'm thrilled that you liked the shoes. They are indeed vintage. I had two of my finest lackeys out scouring Tucson's second-hand shops a full two hours before the wedding, and they did not disappoint. When I caught up with Brett and Gary to discuss the shoe options, they were eating their lunch in the gutter on 4th Avenue. It was surprising and amusing.

Finally my surliness gets the recognition it deserves! sebitto May 17 2006, 08:31:10 UTC
You forgot to mention that some of the grooms tried to outdo the rest of us by getting themselves a suit with an extra third button... (Lousy three-buttoners flaunting their largess in our two-buttoned faces!!)

Sorry, Coopes, but our surliness quotient was filled by my uncle Enoch and his friend Shirley. Enoch, a grizzled old prospector from Idaho's Sawtooth Mountains, hasn't had a good strike in over 50 years, and his attitude shows it. And Shirley is a big arthritic old mama bear who lost a cub to ursine dropsy a few weeks back. So you can see why Rachael behaved as she did.

And Seb is right to point out that some suits were three-button and others two. What a mess. Maybe we should have hired that sassy, straight-talking, yet endearingly vulnerable wedding planner after all.
