Personality:
At first glance Gareki would seem rather cold and distant from the people around him, and this is indeed the case with most people. He is always doing his own thing and minding his own business. He doesn't seem to care about people, no matter what situation they are in. Of course this isn't always the case since there are a few people who mean a lot to Gareki, one being Tsubaki who took him in when he was a child. But overall his compassion is rather low toward people, especially strangers. The only time when he does help someone is when he thinks that the other person would benefit him or else there is no chance that he would lend a helping hand. This is the case with Nai sine Gareki helped Nai from danger only because he believed that Nai would be useful to him. During that time Nai was holding a Circus bracelet and so Gareki figured that he must know something important.
While Gareki is arrogant and distant, how he is, is rather natural considering his background. He was sold and bullied as a child and did not have the best impression when it came to people. Gareki admits that the world seemed dirty to him and this is probably why he is so distant from anyone around him. To put simply, Gareki distrusts people and with good reason. However, Gareki also admits that after meeting Nai his way of seeing the world changed. Nai's way of thinking and seeing the world was so different from his own, and because of that Gareki was able to see the world as a better place.
But to say that Gareki does not have much compassion is not to say that Gareki cannot and will not care for anyone. Despite his attitude he has a gentle and caring side, reserved for very few people. So, there are people he cares about, and he will quietly look after their wellbeing and protect them when he has to. One example would be how Gareki got by before he joined the Circus. Before he met Nai and forced to join the Circus he would set up plans to rob the rich. But, Gareki did not rob the rich just to make easy money and the money actually went to the sick grandfather of Yokata and Tsubame, the children of Tsubaki. Tsubame learns of this later and realize that Gareki had actually not left them completely and always looked after them even after she felt abandoned by him.
And in reality, Gareki has deep feelings of sorrow that he stores away with his cold demeanor. This is what confused Nai, who could hear "voices", the feelings of people and he sees the sorrow Gareki is feeling. Gareki however, is reserved and wouldn't show anyone this side just as he would not show that he actually cares about people. He trusts little people and consider almost no one as friends, but when he does trust someone Gareki is very bad at expressing it anyways. Instead of saying what he wants to say he will simply get annoyed and snap at them.
Strengths/Weaknesses:
Gareki is really skilled at making things-- anything to do with mechanics, or making bombs he can do with a few scraps here and there that he finds. And while he isn't educated in school he has learned to educate himself because of this through many different types of books, and he appears to know that the average person because of this.He is also a sharp shooter!
What Gareki can't do is express himself very well. This can be considered a weakness considering that it is hard for him to get his point across unless it involved yelling or insults. So while he does care about people they wouldn't necessary know. (ex: Yogi believes that Gareki hates him because of how cold he is toward him, but that probably isn't true.)

Hey, I have a question.
[This would be Gareki, deadpanning at the feed for the video. Hopefully no one stupid answers to this post.
He doesn't look too pleased but after a few moments he holds up one of his poke balls, getting to the point.]
This thing, how does it hold one of those...animals. Pokemon.
[After another pause he holds up another........
pieces of a poke ball. He had taken it apart with no trouble, but he still does not understand the mechanics of all it and it's pissing him off to be quite honest.
Tch.]
Anyways, if you can't tell me how it works forget it.
Third Person Sample:
"Knock. It. off! Stop. Following. Me." This was Gareki, not feeling particular pleased at the moment. No, actually he was not pleased at all. For one thing he ended up in a place he was not familar with and for another thing, there was this "thing" following him. It was a Mareep, but of course Gareki didn't know that, and what irritated him more was that it was happily following him as if his shouts did not mean anything. He picks the Mareep up, almost half choking it. "Shouldn't you know better than to follow a stranger? You'll be kidnapped easily."
He gives the Mareep a glare before dropping her, but again the Mareep did not seem to understand. "..." He was beginning to feel like he was looking like a fool, and it felt like deja vu. Maybe he was too used to this, talking to someone with this kind of naïve attitude. His thoughts immediately drifted to Nai, who turned out to be a Ninji (an animal much like this Mareep actually). Suddenly he just got a little more frustrated by this. "Whatever..."
If it wanted to follow him fine, and maybe he'll get an award if this thing was someone's pet. Plus it wasn't like he had to acknowledge its existence. He looks down the road, with a poke ball in his hand as he tried to figure out what was going on. He examined it closely, thinking about taking it apart. No, now wasn't the time for that. He had to go find Nai. Admittedly he had grown attached to him and...right now Gareki was actually worried. He shoves the poke ball back in his pocket; he was going to go find him. He starts walking, occasionally eying behind him to see if the Mareep was still following him out of curiosity.
