So. My laptop is poofing on me again. Basically it would shut down at random.No warning. This is the second time.

Currently own Toshiba Satellite A200 from Best Buy purchased April 2008.

The first time it started doing this was back in the beginning of the year, and found that the problem was that the motherboard was fried apparently. Got it replaced

I personally recommend Toshiba as the laptop brand to go with, I have a Satellite Pro from 2002 that still functions to do what I need it to do (though I did murder the graphics card playing two MMO's over four years).
Gaming wise, you may have to dish out the extra $$$ on a lappy. Guess it'll depend what you want to play.
