Love of what? The person, the situation, the sex, the degredation, the rush of being so close to death, the fear?

The hate, the anger, the power, the infliction of humiliation, the affirmation of masculinity, the need to be loved?

There reasons for continuing are largerly the same. AS a wise man once said "we always did feel the same we just saw it from a different point of view"

When people find themselves in a mutually beneficial situation, even one filled with brutality, its hard to not allow it to continue. Essentially a ying and a yang are only a ying or a yang if the other is present to be measured against.
