You're understandably angry, but doctors can't just do things like that. They need contractual consent from someone with Power of Attorney over your aunt. This was a conscious decision made by a family member or made by your aunt on a previous date. The doctors can't legally just remove a patient's feeding tube without consent or maybe a court order to do so, otherwise you're right, that would be murder.

Believe me I know what you're going through, I dealt with the same thing, but your anger towards the doctors is misdirected. If you need to talk you know where to find me, just don't prank call me again please.

I know it's misdirected, but I hate them for even asking for permission or whatever.

Are they perhaps feeding her through the IV? My grandma can't swallow so that is how she gets her sustenance.

Nope. They stopped feeding her completely.

Can you really trust someone that calls his work "practice"?

*hugs* ive heard about coma paitients responsive to music...

i can see them stop feeding her if she were brain dead....and if she has a brain tumor, she is going to be. you cant get a transplant like other cancer on organs, and surgerys to take out the tumor are very difficult.

im very sorry for you and your aunt. but stopping food, and pulling the plug, are consenual, doctors can't do it. so your aunts parents, or family can authorize that.

she has brain cancer, would you want her to live in that pain? my family did a lot of research on difference cancers since my gramma had breast and my dad died of hotchkins lymphoma cancer...she couldve given previous concent

and i know for a fact that with cancer paitients that if they even begin to die, or go into a coma that the doctors and hospital will not try to save them. i talked to some families of cancer paitients, when i was visiting my dad when he was staying in the cancer ward.

again im sorry *hugs*

My uncle has a brain tumor. I don't know if it's cancerous, it's been causing excessive bleeding and they don't want to run tests on him until the bleeding stops. It's pretty bad, and I'm not sure what I'd do if I where in your position.

He's the only uncle I actually like, and I looked up to him a lot when I was growing up. If he where in a coma, I'm not sure if I'd rather grip to hopes of him getting better, or come to terms with his inevitable death and let him die a less excruciating death.

As it is my uncle has constant headaches, they never stop, they scrape inside his skull and blur his vision.

Anywho lots of <3 Sheena.

sweety, im sorry, but people dont die from not eating for a few days, did she have a rattle in her breathing? my dad actually went into a coma for 3 days before he died, but he had a rattle in his breathing. the doctors told me they called it a death rattle and it means theyre going to die soon, they stopped helping my dad with stuff after that.

but these doctors sound like total dicks, but i dont see them explaining everything to every visitor of your aunt, they only explained things to my step mom and me if i specifically asked. they shouldve been more understanding. this doesnt sound like murder, BUT it doesnt sound right either.

*hugs*
