Actually, I disagree with the bit about the gaps being “inexplicable”, too. There are internal and external inconsistencies in the theory, yes. But pointing them out in the classroom should lead budding scientists to seek to improve the theory and expand human knowledge, not abandon it for childhood fairy tales.
