 Well, the Russians won and the Venezuelans won also (unless you are a Chavez fan). In the case of Venezuela it appears that Chavez did too good a job enhancing the lifestyles of his constituents or he waited to long to press the issue. The bottom line is that the majority of the population of Venezuela has moved beyond the basic needs level and

Well it sounds like good news all about. So Rudd is officially our Prime Minister here and John Howard officially lost his seat, so it has been crazyness all around in these parts. its been so long since we have had a new government people don't know what to make of it yet. Strangly enough the largest effect seems to be that people know want to get rid of the State government.

Russia is an interesting case, and I really don't know what to expect from it. It's interesting to see whats happened in Poland, Belarus and the Ukraine as three very different examples of where Russia could go.
