So you want to talk about the Mid-East, but what do you really know? Where is it exactly?  What are it's boundaries? Who are it's people?  This is the geographical region known as the Middle East.  This area straddles two continents; it is hemmed in on one side by Europe and the other by central Asia, a less well known region and less popular field

You forgot the Alawaites (Syria) and the Samaritans (Israel) as well as the Beduin (everywhere) ....the Beduin in particular have a deep impact on the culture, as most Arabs beleive themselves to be just one or 2 generatoins from roaming the desert (regardless of whatever the truth may be).
