Not sure how many of you guys follow the Fang/Vanille thread on /u/ (everyone should, btw), but anon posted up a summary:
Shoddy summary of Tomorrow:
-Beginning is a post-apocalyptic destruction of Fang and Vanille's home town. Fang and Vanille are the only survivors. It's full of pretty grim imagery.
-Second part is Fang and Vanille going into the temple where fal'Cie Anima is being guarded. I don't understand very well what is happening in the beginning of the chapter. Fang has volunteered to become a l'Cie and Vanille is coming along as her company. They get to fal'Cie Anima and the guards tell Vanille to wait. As the ritual is about to begin Fang goes mad and starts insulting fal'Cie Anima. Fang grabs a weapon and tries to attack it but the guards stop her. The priest of the Temple tells the guards to kill her as the punishment for insulting fal'Cie Anima is death. Vanille runs and shields Fang with her body, Vanille pleads for forgiveness and says that she will make amends for Fang's sin. Vanille tells them that she will become a l'Cie along with her and that they will fight against Cocoon together. As they become l'Cie together, they make the promise that no matter what happens, they won't be separated.
-Third part right after the she and Fang were separated. Vanille is depressed and just wandering around worried about Fang. She learns about the Purge and that people aren't being allowed to leave the area. Vanille feels very lonely and scared and has to sleep on the street because she has no money or an identity car and she doesn't one to get in trouble by stealing one. Vanille remembers Dahj and Serah and feels a crown of thorns stabbing her heart.
Vanille is awakened by the guards and she is told to board the train with the rest of the population. Vanille sees the people who used to be happy now in panic and despair and feels even more guilty. She learns that they're being sent to Pulse along with fal'Cie anime. Vanille thinks about Fang and cries until she falls asleep.
Vanille boards the train and meets Hope and his mother along with more people. She thinks that they're all very gentle but she sees that they're all afraid of Gran Pulse. Vanille thinks that life in Gran Pulse can be harsh, but she thinks that she and Fang were very happy in Gran Pulse and that Gran Pulse has a beautiful vegetation and endless skies. She wants to tell people to not be afraid but finds this impossible. Vanille decides to help the people from Cocoon being purged as an atonement.
Vanille starts crying quietly "Fang, I'm so sorry I will return by myself to Gran Pulse. Fang, I'm sorry I have abandoned you in Cocoon. Fang, I'm sorry I have broke our promise."
Vanille knows that if she is sent to Pulse like that she will probably become a Corpse. She doesn't care about becoming a Corpse but she wishes she at least has enough time to get into Pulse and be able to kill herself far away from everyone else so that nobody is hurt by her. She thinks that since Fang's l'Cie mark is broken she won't become a Corpse and thinks that that is enough for her. She thinks that as long as Fang is able to keep on living she doesn't care about anything else. Vanille thinks that Fang will be very angry with her and apologizes again.
As the light novel ends, Vanille hopes that at least she is able to receive a warm greeting from Pulse and right after it the game begins.
-----
“Fal'Cie Anima. I have something to say to you! Are you listening?”
[...]
“Why are you here? If you really wanted to, you could destroy Cocoon. That'd be a simple task for a Fal'Cie, right?”
Fang continues on in this vain for a bit, and the officials there (not entirely sure what to call them-they're like elders, watching over the proceedings, I think) shout out “How offensive! You're right in front of the Fal'Cie and being disrespectful! Stop, now!” Fang begins to run, trying to attack Anima. The officials tell her not to go near it, and Fang says, “I'll become a l'Cie, and I'll take down how ever many fal'Cie I have to, because I cannot stand how they're acting; how they abuse their power.” Fang's told that it's ridiculous to try taking on a fal'Cie, and that she should withdraw.
Fang says, “I said those things because the fal'Cie is a bastard. Don't you think anything of human life?”
The official replies coldly, “Human life? You're nothing but a mere orphan.”
The officials ridicule Oerba, saying that it was isolated, because the people were uneducated, and that the orphans were bound to become l'Cie. Another spits on the floor, saying that they're stupid, and not even able to read.
Fang and Vanille's eyes burn with anger, and Vanille says that the officials aren't permitted to insult their hometown. They attack the officials who insulted Oerba, but find themselves surrounded, weapons pointed at them (spears or lances, I think). The officials say that it's “All your fault; your companion will turn into a Corpse, for good. [...] I'll have her destroyed.”
“The riot will die down!”
“The rebel will die!”
Fang, with the weapons pointed at her, can't move, and they slowly advance on her. Vanille calls out “Please, wait!” and rushes over, protecting Fang's body with her own. “Please, forgive her,” Vanille says.
“She insulted the fal'Cie Anima, imposing a great atrocity. This person's sins are heavy.”
“If that's the case, then I'll have to atone for her! I must join with this person, and become a l'Cie, as well. Please, send us into battle against Cocoon!”
[...]
“Please, allow us to both become l'Cie. We were prepared to do this, from the moment we entered the temple.”
“But...”
“Although we're orphans, we grew up with family. Everyone in the hometown. Therefore, we'll become l'Cie and protect them all.”
The officials surround the girls, and begin to pray, so that they become l'Cie.
“Forever, the two of us together. No matter what happens, we won't part.”
On that day, two l'Cie were born.
