the army
fortes fortuna iuvat Romana doesn't have equals, being as old as she is, and as powerful as she is. She does, however, have those she considers as close as it's possible to get. People who have fought at her side. People who have fought at her side, people she trusts without a second thought, people she loves in her fierce and distant way. This won't exempt them from her occasional rages, and she tends to demand more of them than anyone else, but they also get her respect and occasional affection, as well as the perks of being the favorite of a First. These will all be angels, mostly archangels or possibly angels of vengeance, and people she has a past with. [Vincent Sterling

do ut facias Romana... is sort of a high-maintenance person. She's so focused on the big picture (and her own private wars) that the details are something she just tends to see as distractions. Therefore, she needs people to take care of that for her. Sort of personal assistants, these are the people who arrange things so that her life flows smoothly; they're a large part of the reason she's still sane, after so many years of living. They're overworked and underappreciated, and tend to get the worst of her temper when she's having a bad day, but they actually are the people she's nicest to - you don't antagonize the people who make your coffee. consilio et animis For ages, Romana's had this habit of picking up young angels and... teaching them. Keeping an eye on them. Basically adopting them. She turns them into competent warriors (as they tend to be archangels), arranges for opportunities to open up to them, eventually settles them in positions of power (usually running their own network of archangels). And she adores them, though it may not be obvious because... well, it's Romana. They're her kids, and you screw with them at your own peril. [Elena Guerrero

constantia et virtute Romana's a leader who tends to attack problems (alright, mostly demons) head-on, and some people are bound to find that attractive and rally to her cause. She will gladly accept them. This is her army, and while she'll throw them into harm's way, she'll usually be right there fighting with them. They won't know her well, but as long as they follow and respect her, she'll take care of them. [Aria Blake

exitus acta probat There are some who aren't quite as enthusiastic about Romana's methods, but follow her anyway, for various reasons - because she's a First, because whatever her methods, she gets results, because of various loyalties... Unfortunately for them, Romana doesn't tend to distinguish between willing and reluctant followers, though she'll usually shove them into administrative, organizational and support positions if they really have reservations - mostly because she doesn't want to have to trust them at her side in battle if they're not with her completely. dissenters
bonitas non est pessimis esse meliorem As an angel, doing things that are morally questionable is a bit difficult for Romana, except for two things. 1) She's had long centuries to figure out the loopholes, and 2) oftentimes, "morality" can be twisted for a cause. Because of this, a lot of the things Romana does to achieve her goals can be just a little questionable. These are the people on the side of the white hats who don't follow her, usually because her methods are so questionable. Despite this, they don't actively oppose her, and occasionally she'll be able to call them in for a favor or two. [always open]
quis custodiet ipsos custodes? These are the white hats who do actively oppose her. The people who feel it's dangerous for her to be in charge and would like to find a way to change that, the people who just plain hate her for one reason or another... She's not the most likable person, Romana, and she's bound to gain some enemies from both sides. And here in Chicago, where people are less likely to trust her just because she's the oldest thing in this universe... she's even more likely to gain them than usual. And Romana, being psychic and all, will know they oppose her - and if there's any justifiable reason she can find to get rid of them, she will, and without a second thought. [Becky Trapper

the infidel
flat justitia ruat coelum Romana never quite let go of that old archangel obsession with demons, even though it's been over a millennium since she actually was an archangel. Any demon will earn her animosity, and if one's around, her automatic reaction is to kill it even if it hasn't necessarily done anything to deserve it. However, certain demons will elude her, for one reason or another, and this is absolutely unacceptable to her. These are the demons she has a particular vendetta against, who she'd give anything to see dead, and she'll often resort to desperate, reckless measures to make certain that happens. [Annie Hunt
