sometimes in cooking I can not be as spontaneous as I would like.

Important cooking lessons re-learned today:
Tomatoes (acidic) slow lentil cooking rate.
Salt slows lentil cooking rate.
Older lentils cook slower than newer ones (so they won't be done at the same time if you mix them).

My soup is still shaping up to be pretty good though!

oh my god yes.
although i never cook my lentils in a pot, only in a pressure cooker?
but i learned something important today too:
when trying to curdle milk, do not add salt. it only stabilizes the proteins and makes them more soluble = bad.
but i did make delicious cheese!!!

MELANIE LETS COOK TOGETHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
are you free wednesday morning? or early early afternoon?!?!
we should try to make some crazy presumptuous fancy things (-wine or meat)!!!
aTRON

PS i went out for dinner avec ma famille parce-que c'est la fete du naissance pour ma mere, and J was there with a girl in the restaurant.... i recognized him but didn't know if i could say hi and then it was awkward and maybe he didn't recognize me?!?!
wierd.

PPS but the food was delicious and it is a rock-awesome restaurant and when i live by health sciences (thinking positively here) i will eat there often! with you!

PPPS want to practice interview me? all the cool kids are doing it.

Quel restuarant?

Ooh, and you should check out the Black Sheep Diner on Ellice near Langside. Vegan-friendly breakfast and lunch. They have a vending machine that sells pieces of art for $4.
