I read of poets who spend twenty years working on one collection of poems, and I didn't really get it until now.  There are some things that you are set up to love, but need time and depth to make it into the poem you want.  I have notebooks full of flash in the pan poems, some that I actually like, but I've been working on this one for about a ( Read more... )

did you have paul longo for poetry? or heard of this hawt brawny man?

srsly jamie i think you should use some of your blogging to construct poems. look at what you wrote:

I don't know a delicate way to put into a poem how he lowered his credit score just so that he could get a free blanket so I could sit on it and have a barrier between me and the grass I'm so allergic to.

this is also an interesting line: What will a reader think "four inch internet" is referencing?

(when i first read this i thought of him being next door, stealing your wifi, or you stealing his. then i thought briefly it was a sexual reference, you know, with inches and stuff)

i think some people have their preferred "type" of poetry, i don't think you should alter your style to reach them. do what feels right. :) otherwise it will feel forced & phony

also thank you for your lovely comments on my film.. i really treasure them. hopefully i'll clean the film off & send her away soon.

I had some girl for 209, she had the coolest tattoo on her forearm and wrote poems about dead pigeons.

I've been jotting down small, make sense if you're there type poems. My next goal is to make it be universal... eventually. I think I'll try to blog but probably won't make it to the post part, just because I am too sensitive about words. :(
