A little fun with Old English

Since we are still in the realm of Old English poetry I thought it would be fun to post a few of the Old English Riddles that appeared in the Exeter Book which also featured "The Wife's Lament", which I have mentioned before. OK Janice, here are my attempts at those riddles :) For Riddle #25 - is it mead?, for Riddle #3 - I think it's a shield, and for Riddle #18 - I believe it's a sword. Here's hoping I got at least one right, LOL :)It was great fun by the way, a wonderful idea for a post.

Hey there I agree, great idea for a post. I would have to take a stab at it, no pun intended, that the first riddle is: honestly I have no clue..I am lost on that one. The second riddle: is as stated below, a piece of fighting equipment, either a shield, body armor or a helmet. And lastley riddle number three: I agree with Tricia, it has to be a sword, cutting throats and what not.
