If I may have your attention.
Now that the latest experiment is behind us, and with the current situation only as always temporary at best - with a likely turn for the worse in the very near future - there are a few things that require serious consideration.
First and foremost is the business of the apparent 'war' in which we were requested to enlist. Your decision to do so or not is your own; however, the sheer number of people willing to volunteer means there will need to be a few changes in the way things in the village are handled. I have been observing certain aspects of this village for some time and I doubt its ability to withstand this new challenge without some real organization.
That high number of volunteers implies without question a much higher rate of casualties, especially when added to the arrival of New Feathers and those returned from kidnappings. The clinic we have is neither large enough nor well-equipped enough to handle this sort of demand, and it would be just as dangerous to overtax those with the ability to use healing artes magic. I am not by any means saying there will be an inordinate number of injured people at any given time. That said, though, it would be better for all of us if we were prepared for one. There are a few different solutions to this; the first step is to put into place a firmer schedule for those who wish to work there, particularly those who are actually doctors or healers of some sort. A separate schedule for other volunteers would work just fine. The options for expansion include literally adding onto the current building in some fashion, using another building in conjunction with the current one, and building a newer, larger clinic altogether. There are, of course, other options, if you have any to suggest.
It is my understanding that there are more than enough people here capable of handling themselves in a fight. Unfortunately, there are also those few who would undermine the relatively peaceful existence we have here - this has been locked away from those few - and they may well take advantage of the village's depleted nature during the times when some of us are fighting elsewhere. In an effort to both remain prepared and perhaps circumvent any of this, a more organized system of dealing with such incidents as the one at the grocery, or the one several months ago in the clinic, is necessary. I know there are some residents well acquainted with various legal systems who would have more direct and, perhaps, useful input in this matter. Something needs to be done, fairly and fairly soon.
If possible, I would also like to speak with whatever person or persons are in charge of the patrols of the surrounding area, and the group planning to build safe shelters for New Feathers and returning victims.
Please feel free to state your opinions. The only certainty here is that the state of this village now has the potential to change rather fast, and we do not have the luxury of ample time.
