God Bless You All, You Weird People, You

Got paroled, sort of...I'm getting out of here 2 weeks earlier than I thought to go back to sea. CANNOT wait. Don't ever move here. Don't even think of moving here.

Was wondering where you'd gotten to.

That looks like either Dutch or Afrikaans. Remember my ristaffel stories. When you've been trained by a Dutchman in hospitality, you've been scarred for life.

Was doing a final troll through en route to going offline for a bit and came across someone who felt an apparently overwhelming need to title their journal tabs in latin.

That is afrikaans, you are correct. Yes, you told me about the rijstaffel...and about the boneheaded bride who thought a rijstaffel would be a good idea for a reception thing.

Meanwhile, I reckon that if I can't go back stateside until January lest I get walloped with the taxes again, I can take a leave of absence and go walk with lions in Zimbabwe. War-torn country with high inflation and immense poverty...and still I would go there over this pit.

God, I'd forgotten about the rijstaffel wedding! Damn but that was funny - well not so much for the guests but I was amused. Took Daniel's to get me over my fear of fish en papiotte.

Just exactly what were you thinking when you decided to take that particular gig? Oh and I might be in Austin for a few weeks in the fall.
