Office Meta 6.20: New Leads

Mar 24, 2010 23:50

Welcome to another instalment of Office Meta, for the episode New Leads. I’m just going to leave this here and let y’all do what you wish. Have a great Thursday!

The Aforementioned New Leads

Gotta admit, Michael's stupid idea of the week actually wasn't that stupid. Now, giving leads to Kevin was stupid, but making the sales staff work for leads was a good idea, since they were being real asshats. I mean, Phyllis??? Jesus, what the hell happened to her? fairandbright

Awwww, Pam is so adorable with her intricate knowledge of Michael's idiosyncrasies. I think I said "I love you" before Jim did. rainbowstevie

Kelly, Ryan, and the brilliance of Stanley Hudson

How is it that Jim and Kelly only interact when they're squabbling? NOT COOL, SHOW. Don't think I won't wayward-ship a love/hate relationship just as hard as my apparent AU in which they're friends. rainbowstevie

I adored Ryan & Kelly fighting over what to watch on TV. As though it is a surprise to Ryan that Kelly would be invested in watching a reality show on E! Can't they compromise and watch "The Girls Next Door"? But Stanley sitting in the middle, smiling and playing them against each other while they hand him lead cards in turn - that was wickedly inspired. Is he some sort of secret genius? rainbowstevie

Andy and Erin

My mom lost it at Andy's pants. She goes, "What is he wearing? Those pants are persimmon colored!" Oh, Andy. You and your misguided attempts to incorporate color into your wardrobe. Ha, and he was allll ready to grope Erin in the office. "Warmer... hot... loooower..." fairandbright

And because dichotomy is hilarious:

Ew. EWWWW. God, I haven't seen anything that gross since...well, the last time Andy kissed someone.rainbowstevie

I love the Andy/Erin relationship so far, I really do. Who else but the two of them could have their first kiss at the city dump and make it look sweet and perfect? fairandbright

Intertextshowuality

Kevin watches Ghost Whisperer? That's a sign, internet. Join me in a place of phantom horsemen and real haunted houses and the best antique store you have ever seen. Trust me on this! I used to hate that show more than I used to hate this one, but I converted and you can too. Also, NBC show, why are you plugging a CBS series? Which is totally awesome, I mean, not gonna argue it, but if you need to plug a Friday night CBS show, don't you think it should be NUMB3RS, on account of it being a wonderful piece of joy with an OTP almost more perfect than Jim and Pam? I DO. rainbowstevie

General Comments

And then I feel this ep was like, we're now going to be reminding you in this episode of how things used to be. Michael calling Dwight on how much he would have loved to spend a day at the dump with him in the past. The return of assistant manager and assistant to =the regional manager. Angela and Phyllis power struggles. IT WAS TOO MUCH!!! cashewdani

When I say the episode was generally pretty good, I mean it was good for the first 2/3 and then it devolved into Michael and Dwight throwing garbage at each other in a CGI dump. rainbowstevie
