To be honest, this has happened to everyone I know. The PS2 is a dodgy peice of kit.
I remember going to the PS2 industry opening in the blackstaff building a few years ago. Withon about two hours all the PS2's had crashed and everyone was playing the PS1's.

Because all the PS2's were screwed in behind cases and because of insurance issues, no staff were allowed to unscrew and reset the bloody things.

PS2's suck for stability and durability.
