[When Veronica first approached the bonfire, she didn't quite register Freckles immediately. But when she does, she can't quite help the incredulous look that's on her face when she leans over to look at him.]
[He double-takes from his sandwich back to Veronica.]
Oh! Yeah, I get that a lot for some reason. People say we're from different worlds, or somethin' but I don't know why there are so many humans and so little cats. Doesn't seem too fair...
[Tammy was coming in from her errands. She'd spotted Calvin sitting in front of the fire and started to approach...but then her stomach had growled. So she made a quick detour to the kitchen, shoved an apple into her bag, poured two glasses of milk, and headed back to the fire.
She dropped her backpack down next to him before taking a seat beside him, offering him one of the glasses.]
Figured you might be thirsty, and here's hoping my assumption doesn't make an ass of me.
