NGL, I REALLY LOVE THAT SHIP TOO. I'm kind of an equal opportunist when it comes to David Cook. I ship him with everyone. Archie, Michael, his entire band... everyone. oh my gosh, this is amazing. like, freakishly amazing (freakishly being a good thing, in this case, of course). it's heartrendingly gorgeous and eloquent and absolutely wonderful.
there are far too many lines that i absolutely adored to fit into one comment - and, honestly, i'd just be copying the entire thing - but this line really got me:
There are so many words in the English language, but he doesn’t think that there’s one for this, this feeling, this moment.
i don't know, i've always had a fascination and love of the english language, and that line just brought it all back.

Oh my heck, this was gorgeous and awesome. I love your haunting, lovely sentences and images: the dream Cook has, in colour, the last image of them in the skyscraper, everything. Seriously so well done.
