First of all, I would like to thank all of you for participating in the poll the other day. We now have the results, even though it's revealed on the other post, but to make it official:
Action-logging will take place in the main logging community,
hometrail!
From now on, we'd like you all to tag your posts with the following: *style: prose or *style: actionlog! Whether or not the two can intermix is up to you folks and your level of tolerance/comfort (and I've heard talk that it's happened before) with reading one style and write another. That said, this option is not without its limits. The moment we see action-logging overshadow prose logs, there will be an issue. So please, don't abuse! As we mentioned in the previous post, action logging will have neither positive nor negative effects toward your activity.
As far as activity goes, if you feel you may not be able to fulfill our network post requirements (which is now upped to two weeks instead of one), we have alternatives. For one, sending emails do count as a network post! For those characters who would rather post in private. In IC cases (such as misplacing or breaking the Junogam), let us know during the activity check. However, if we notice a pattern of your character breaking and/or losing their Junogams every activity check, we will see it as an attempt to cheat the system.
Now, if your character doesn't normally post in
willaknet or do that kinda thing at all, we expect you to make up for it with prose logs.
All in all, here are our MONTHLY activity requirements (yes, we will check every month):
OPTION A.
- Two prose logs where you were actively participating (doesn't have to be complete, but if we see that ALL of your logs aren't tagged as *complete, we will have to talk.)
- Two network posts OR two active comment threads (different posts) in willaknet.
OPTION B.
- Three prose logs (same rules apply above).
- No network posts/comments.
AGAIN, these are MONTHLY requirements, not bi-weekly.
Now, when you see this in terms of numbers, it does seem quite overwhelming, but we assure you that this is completely doable, as neither network nor prose posts have to be lengthy.
You might ask why we are so strict with activity. ...Well, you can see it this way:
hometrail is a game with a character cap, and event/plot-driven events will occur on a monthly to bi-monthly basis (along with app cycles which would tentatively be monthly or bi-monthly). We can't afford people squatting on characters when other potential players could do better. So, if you feel you cannot reach our requirements for one character after a while (meaning, after the opening hype and getting into the groove of the gameplay), please let us know in the
mod contact page. This game is intended to be a medium-paced game (hence the strange in-game day to real day ratio), and if you can't catch up even with that, we may be doing something wrong. So, please be assured we are still willing to try new things and hear you out.
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, you are always welcomed to
contact a mod. I swear that we are all approachable and friendly, so please don't hold back in doing so!
