Lambda is prrrrobably one of the people he's more comfortable around in camp, despite the fact that they don't talk all that much. She's old, she gets it. He gets the sense that she has a wicked streak which- honestly, after centuries hanging with his crazy, paranoid brother, he's quite used to. She's good for conversation! If Elijah sees her around, he'll talk with her, and it's not like there's any expectations there whatsoever (whereas with vampires, it's the whole superior thing and humans, it's stuff). He's chill with it.

It's pretty much similar for Lambda! She enjoys talking to him when he's around; she likes having someone non-human and around her age to be able to talk to. Even though they don't know each other that well, he's one of the people she's more likely to talk a bit honestly to instead of only playing around and acting completely childish, because he's someone who can get her whole philosophy and someone who she can actually relate to on a level. So while there's not any real attachment right now, he makes for a good conversation partner and she sees the potential for a casual friendship.

I think right now Elena Gilbert is at the top of my list! She's the main character of the Vampire Diaries, and she is basically this badass human surrounded with all these insane supernatural types, and she still manages to own each and every one of them. I mean, she has Elijah whipped. It's awesome. Elena is still very much a teenage girl in that she will do ridiculously stupid things at times that she thinks are for the best, but she's never really . . . the damsel in distress by any means. She gets kidnapped like- twice and immediately takes control of the situation. She's awesome.

First impressions for Elijah and Niche!

PRETTY SIMPLE, actually. She's not human, which, well, bonus points right there since Elijah is more comfortable around them, and she's clearly a child. And he has a soft spot for some kids, I think, and Niche sort of hits his big brother pings. So yes, he will read her stories and then encourage her to stab things in the face because that's so cute. '-' gosh Hanna I can't understand why you don't like her. '-'

Niche likes Eliza a lot because he doesn't treat her like she's human. Why does she have to wear clothes! What are manners! Why doesn't anyone believe she's 200! WHY CAN'T SHE PUNCH THINGS! So Eliza is the best. Red Hanna sucks, let's break his stuff.

What adventures should Niche and Eliza Mister Smith have in the future?

UM, RUINING HANNA'S LIFE ADVENTURES, of course.

First impressions for Alice?

She is adorable and polite and good for conversation! They haven't talked too much and Elijah isn't entirely certain about what's up with her, but she seems to have a good head on her shoulders, so that's like a million bonus points in his book already.

He is likewise polite and mannerly and good for conversation! So, Alice is not very happy with the current Stefan and Klaus situation, partly because MUST YOU, OTHER PEOPLE'S VILLAINS and partly because it has some surface similarities to Jasper's history and that bothers her. But from the bits and pieces she's seen of Elijah she's decided his personality has potential and that in general he seems a good person to get along with, so she's set out to charm him.

ELIJAH'S THOUGHTS ON VANESSA!!!

Reply

ofhisword July 26 2011, 21:05:41 UTC
For Vanessa! Elijah . . . is kind of indifferent towards her, honestly. She's a human with some unique human interests and he can easily make pleasant conversation with her, but he doesn't have any strong feelings towards her one way or the other. He wanted to have more people around who didn't know what he was! He's trying to be a bit more sociable, especially in light of recent events. At the same time, Elijah is very, very careful about what he says so that if/when Vanessa finds out about him, he can say ". . . it never came up, you never asked" and shrug his shoulders. As one does.

Oh, Elijah :'D

Vanessa on the other hand actually likes Elijah, because he's a GENTLEMAN. He is so far the only person she hasn't ever gotten angry at, and that because of his attitude and how he's polite and carries himself in a dignified way! So he has this noble vibething, even if he isn't a noble, and he treats Vanessa well which is clearly a plus. And he hasn't, say, implied he's a masochist or said something questionable! She doesn't trust him, per se, but she doesn't perceive him as a threat, either, which makes her act considerably calmer around him. And he listened to her lesson about flower language! So she sees him as someone she enjoys the company with and a potential friend, or someone she can relies on to get a decent, civil conversation with after getting frustrated by crazy people claiming they're countries or by the Hawke family. And then there's the fact he apparently has a sad family story too, so even if she doesn't know the details, she feels sympathetic to that ( ... )

FIRST-IMPRESSIONS ME, JESSE ST. JAMES

Reply

ofhisword July 26 2011, 21:04:12 UTC
HOHO YES.

Jesse is okay with him! I mean, he's used to a lot of camp weirdness - he's been here for over a year, he's been hanging out around vampires and other sorts recently, he's adapted and this doesn't weird him out in the slightest because he is a special snowflake - so the whole mind reading thing didn't really throw him for a loop. He was annoyed that Charles made him work for that! Who even does that! MOOOOOOOOM. But he's rolled on pretty quickly already. He's interesting, since Jesse's never met a psychic before, and he does seem like a decent-ish guy, so Jesse would be up for poking at him in the future and being Jesse St. James in his general direction. And so on.
