Just finished my first bottle of single-malt scotch. Laphroaig 10 year. I'd been told that Laphroaig and its ilk were an acquired taste, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it easily acquired. I'll be revisiting this bransd again. Something different for my next bottle, though. Glen-something, probably. -

Starting _Worm_ again. With all the hype over this story the last few years, I almost don't want to dive in, for fear of being disappointed.

On a (fractionally) more serious note, this movie is apparently the source of the phrase "the pros from Dover". More than passing strange. I would have put money on it being older. -

I don't mean fanfiction. I'm confident that fanfiction, nonsexual fanfiction even, exists if I wanted to go looking for it.

Robert Mitchum, who I suspect I should have seen more of, and the remnants of Jimmy Stewart. Yes, he lived a while longer, but this was one of bis last roles. -
On Pronouns
I salute Ann Leckie. Her novel _Ancillary Justice_ features an empire whose lingua franca has the feminine gender as its default.
