it's something that some Jews do, to write G-d by replacing the o with a -, because G-d's name is so sacred they are not allowed to throw away a piece of paper with "G-d" written on. however, if by accident "G-d" is written, then the paper can be disposed of in a special way and buried in a special place. others say that this is just an english word, not hebrew, and so has no importance.

i'm not jewish, but i figured maybe i should try viewing G-d in higher esteem, and even in writing His name make it a constant consideration.

does this make sense?

I've done that on paper since I ever had to write the word G-d. Was taught that in hebrew school. I think it is very awesome that you choose to do this as well, even though it can be seen as just the English word and not His real "name."
very very cool.
