It's not that the book wasn't good. Moreso that it's one of those occassions where it would probably make a better movie than a book, because the subject matter of the book itself is very theatrical, whereas the writing itself, is not. This is not to say I didn't enjoy the book. There were just parts I had a hard time actually visualizing the magic. Also what I meant was that the changes that they made (minor ones I can detect from the trailer) are going to enhance rather than detract the story.
Ooooooooooooooohhhh. Most intriguing. I always like asking you about books and movies, Wendy, you always give me such thoughtful yet intriguing replies.
Hopefully I'll get my copy of the book in the next few days ... *crosses fingers*
