A/N: Whew, I had to do quite a bit of research for this chapter on the La Costa Nostra and I took some liberties with inventing some new OOCs which have nothing whatsoever to do with canon but are big players in this version. I also had to do a lot of backtracking to ensure that I didn't accidentally create plot

I really like the section with Gokudera and all his pridefulness. He's even more prickly than he was as a teenager, though he manages to be more adult at the same time. It makes sense, considering all the time he was alone, and that he had to then work for the family that he ran away from in the first place.

And Cervello! That's never good. Of course, now I'm a good deal more excited about what's coming up. Seeing more of the mafia world in this fic is interesting.

Don Cavallone adjusted his scarf and handsomely smiled, twinkling summer-sky blue eyes complementing his silvery blond hair. His son, Dino the "Impetuoso Cavallo" had inherited his good looks from him.
...But unfortunately, not his dress sense. It sounds like old Don Cavallone at least dresses like a mafia boss. *sigh*

Thank you for letting me know what you think of Gokudera and the plot. I was rather amused by what you said about Don Cavallone and Dino - is Dino's fashion sense in canon really that offensive to you? He dresses like a typical rock/pop singer...so. :P Also, you don't object to "Impetuoso Cavallo" for Dino?

Regarding Gokudera, he's a fine balancing act! crochety adult, bratty teenager, loyalty versus lone wolf mentality... In a way, he's very similar to Tsuna in this story at least.

Well yes, I do plan to provide a broader view of the mafia world and how it interacts with the other parts of society, i.e law, governments, international and domestic boundaries since well, let's just say, Tsuna has to expand his horizons, and also manga canon has failed to really show us the actual reality of the Mafia well (Shounen battles don't really count).

I don't really object to Dino's wardrobe, but since it looks exactly the same as what he wore ten years ago, he gives a vague impression of being homeless. He should have broken out something more formal at least once.

Impetuoso Cavallone sounds really cool, so I like it. :D
