Memory Loss Explanation Station

The Meteor Parasite / Raem is a space flea from nowhere that feeds on memories: those of torment and pain especially. If you get close enough, it can devour every memory you have, and the results are more traumatic than your standard "an anvil fell on my head and now I don't remember anything!" fictional amnesia. You know that feeling when you get up to go to the kitchen and you get there and then shit you don't remember why it is you got up in the first place? That is now how you feel about everything. You had a name. You used to know it! You can almost remember it ... but you can't. All that you know was that there was a light and it took that from you.

One character in Crystal Chronicles goes berserker axe-crazy because of this. So that's a route you can take if you want, but it's not a necessary side-effect.

I will be taking some creative liberties with Raem. For persons who may be offended by this, I am not particularly sorry, but I do think it will work better for this format. If you have any questions I can answer them here or in the CFO post.

And just to re-emphasize that this is entirely opt-in, and I will certainly allow characters to investigate what they can of the impact crater, etc, without Traumatic Memory Loss if you do not want to play that out.
