Phillip Glass is awesome. Listen to "Glassworks". The whole CD is excellent. As the music teacher at my work says, Glass "massages the brain."

You know, a black/death-metal version of this song could be pretty badass. Some seriously low growls for the one word lyric. Could be done with or without drums, that would have to be a judgment call... I'd record the drums and compare.

Yeah, the motifs certainly seem like they would work. I was thinking tremolo picking would do them justice. Hard to believe this was written in 1982; Glass influenced a lot of pop, it seems (though whether he influenced black metal is questionable).
