Here's my humble opinion. As they are, I like the one with the abdomen. However, if you took the one without it and blurred the seat area a little and had more focus on the wings, I think that would look quite neat-o. Then again, I'm no artist...

well, i liked them both. but it was easier to tell that the one without an abdomen was your scooter. the one with the abdomen was more... ambiguous?

i actually really like seeing both
like, if i just saw the left one and not the right i might never had seen the scooter in it?
both together makes it look like male and female versions of the same creature

the designer in me needs to know context before selecting one over the other
i mean are you designing an ad for a scooter? or is it for a tattoo? or a sci fi movie?

maybe a little of the two... no tattoos, i am a puss and will never have one. i want to make a bunch of stickers for people, or perhaps a sci fi movie... hehe... might end up part of a vespa club emblem... a vespa is not only a scooter but also a type of wasp... hence the name of the vespa, since it looks like one kind of... even sounds like one.
