someone came into the library today ranting about how the "liberal media hacks" were the ones who were hyping tom brady, and that, i think, the Patriots' loss completely exposes their liberal bias, and acts as the ultimate blow against its usefulness. i'm only certain about the liberal media bit, and the bit about tom brady, and am mostly certain ( Read more... )

The Boston Globe had a book prepared about the 19-0 season available for pre-order. The Boston Herald (think NY Post) has rabid fans posting comments on the book's Amazon page screaming about how the book is a setup the NYTimes-owned Globe to make Boston look bad for being presumptuous.

Waitasec, I'm confused. Their losing the Superbowl means the refs are liberally biased? That means the Pats are more liberal than the Giants? Or does that mean the Pats themselves are more liberally biased than the Giants, and therefore NY is the most conservative state on the planet?

i'm sorry; pronoun trouble. the "their" in the quoted sentence refers back to the liberal media. so yes, i suppose that my new friend thinks that the Giants are somehow the hallmarks of conservatism, because the liberal media did not want them to win. of course, we're trying to go at this rationally...

Nice to know that the liberal media can control the Superbowl outcome. Now what we need is to infiltrate the liberal media and start placing bets under another name.
