Yeah. So I promised myself I wouldn't do this, even though I always kind of knew I'd crack eventually. And even though I'm not really much on the whole politics thing (well, at least not in public), it's finally reached that point where I want to stab things. And people. And things ( Read more... )

Also, so leaving the country.
Tell me about it. If Howard wins again, I'm finishing my degree and then taking a small dinghy across to NZ and pleading political asylum.

Shit. Rocky was tonight? I thought it was tomorrow. Bah. There goes those free tickets, then.

Couldn't have gone, anyway. Have to work tomorrow, and somehow fit voting around that...

No no no, it's on at 11.30(ish) Saturday night (tomorrow)! (See this post).

I might go, but not so sure... although - check your tickets, because they're usually valid for two consecutive shows.

They are - the last one, and this one. Excellent. I'm totally going, then. I'll just swing past on the way back from Julian's...

:) Thank you.
Are you going to be voting? I have no idea how it works if you're living overseas.

I miss having good conversations with you. The people around here are just so... um... *looks around nervously*

Also, your icon is very cool and edgy... is it from a movie?

:)

My Dougie votes at the embassy. Yes, he does. Same place they have parties at the "Down Under Club" and get drunk and nearly get arrested for dancing on train platforms. Go, Aussie. Go.

Count me in on the mass exodus if howard wins. Greens voter here. As a very sick person still, And after two weeks of progressively getting sicker, only having just found a bulk billing doctor and then having to fill pescriptions worth fifty dollars (I need this much medication due to how bad my lungs and foot have gotten) altogether because I earn $20 over the cut off point for a health care card despite the fact minimum wage just does not cut it,.......Yeah, Howard can go to hell. Also, being a tasmanian (yeah joke all you wish) and having the privilege of seeing the old growth forests.....particularly since most tasmanians want to save them. But one logger goes on about jobs and boom every politician will listen to him over most of the state. Yes, the job situation in tassie is shit but they need to tackle it better anyway and coddling the loggers will not help in the long run. They will lose there job anyway when there unsustainable logging practices ruin the forests and not only will we have a bunch of unemployable loggers, we ( ... )

Oh! I had no idea you were that sick. *sends big, big hugs*
I should come and visit you sometime...?

That sucks about the health-care card. $20 over? :/

I just hope there aren't as many stupid people in this country as I'm scared there are.

Take care, though. I hope you feel better soon... :)

As far as I can tell, the only two reasons anybody in their right mind would vote for Howard are 1) they believe that economics is the single most important thing in the world and they are either believe the nonsense fear campaign against Labor regarding interest rates, or they have taken the whole bullshit "hip-pocket" appeals to heart, or 2) they have a terrible, terrible fear of terrorism, and believe that Bush Howard will Keep Us Safe (TM).

You forgot 3) They are retards. Thinking of the few people in our Monash circle who do profess to vote Liberal, this is by far the most logical explanation.

They have not the brainworms!!
