Yeah, still alive. Mostly.

Back at uni... Melbourne uni this time, which is a bit weird, but I think the main thing that's thrown me is the fact that I'm doing a vocational course. Which feels kind of like I'm betraying some sort of academic principle, but the truth of it is that I just can't conceive of the possibility of staying in my current ( Read more... )

Found you!

And now I'm slapping myself for not even ever CONTEMPLATING the notion that you would be a big ol' Nick Cave and EN fan. Stupid, stupid me, I could have shared obsessions, and bored everyone senseless as we talked.

So. I offer you a couple of things. Have you heard Nick Cave's cover of Disco 2000? Or in his much, much younger days (before we were born) doing Nancy Sinatra's These Boots Were Made For Walking

If you have - you're wonderful.

Ooh, thank you so much!! Those are awesome. I have a definite soft spot for early Nick Cave... and Pulp. And Nancy Sinatra. Excellent. :D

And it totally hadn't even crossed my mind that you might be a fan either. Strange. But at least we still have a whole class left to bore people senseless!

In conclusion, I kind of suck and don't have all that much in the way of rare Nick Cave/EN, but if you don't already have it, I've re-uploaded the demo version of Where the Wild Roses Grow... which is pretty much the extent of it, unfortunately.

Though if those YouTube links in the post still work you should check them out... one has EN doing a cover of Sand by Nancy Sinatra. Best thing I've seen in years. Guh.

You and I - we gonna talk LONG time on Thursday.

I've got the demo version of WTWRG - I've also got a live version done in concert (duetting with Blixa), and a Polish cover of the song. If you have some way of converting MP3s that are stored on minidisk to a computer-happy or CD format, I've got the entire Perth concert from about 5 years back, which was 'acoustic' Nick. I've got Sand - it's on the Strategies Against Architecture II album, but I've also favourited that youtube clip. Good stuff. I don't have much of their earlier stuff, but it's on my "I'll get it one day" list.

I'll bring the Kitten along on Thursday, and we can drool over what I have. See if you want any of it.
