1) it also has it's issues, but I really do like that Aeris-in-Lifestream doujinshi where she trips balls a while and Zack is like "'sup :|a" and then she trips balls some more and then looks like Sailor Moon while she safes the world.
2) OK! Using the novel Lifestream mechanics for my own convenience. Given that all the people that we see smile serenely and grab a hand and turn into sparkles were at least in some way ready to face their death, and how sudden and violent and horrible hers was, I agree with the novels that she probably spent a little while really sad and a little shell-shocked. Not long, mind you, because she is a Cetra and she is finding the promised land, but it's not like the Planet was terribly happy about her dying either. IT IS MY PERSONAL OPINION that Zack would've gone straight to the slums , because well, we see how he reacts to that last letter.
He wouldn't go to find her though, not at first - he'd b-line it to the church, because the church is ~*safe*~ and well, after all that traveling he's been doing with Cloud he's probably freakin' tired.
So he'd head there so they could rest, and I can imagine that Aeris would walk in just as he's trying to get Cloud settled and would overhear Zack saying something along the lines of "Don't worry, we're safe here, and you'll love Aeris, she's great-".
And then he'd cut off and they'd stare at each other because five fucking years and Zack would say something dumb because he's just so surprised to see her right away. Probably something dumb-charming about the last letter and how after reading it he had to get there ASAP, and Aeris would tease him and they'd hug and whatnot. Then Zack would introduce Cloud to her and . . . yeah I don't know what would happen after that.
YUFFIE ACTUALLY LIKES ZIDANE as much as she likes anyone, really. He can keep up with her, which is something rare to find and he takes her seriously which is even odder. He does, at this point, count as one of her things. Mostly this means that she admits that he is a worth-while human being and would hella mafia for him if necessary.
SOMEWHAT ZIDANE-RELATED SIDE NOTE: She is though, uhm, a little genuinely miffed that no one saved her from Masque, but is going to do her best to hide it, because. Well. I'm not exactly sure, but I think it's some combination of knowing what an imature horrible thought it is, and also knowing that it's never something she'll get satisfaction on so she's repressing that. \o/
But yeah, Zidane has about as many Yuffie points as one can expect to get without being a ninja or bribing the hell out of her.
Aeris's feelings aren't complicated but they are deep. She really loves Zidane. Not that getting Aeris to love you is hard but he accomlpished it pretty quickly. He reminds her a little of Zack

At first he did! But the way he figures it now, every guy dreams of two chicks at once (or even better, twins). So Aeris is living the dream, only she's a girl, which is cool. Zidane still has his whole "teenage boy" chauvinist streak so he's ~SO AMAZED~ when girls do things that boys do and that makes them EXTRA COOL.

OK FIRST OF ALL she wants to see cities. She's from Midgar, but that's a kind of crappy city. I think she would pretty much flip her shit for Linblum because holy crap airships. She'd want to do lots of touristy stuff: like food, plays, shopping. Oh the shopping that would happen. I should note her that if it was a long visit she would really want Tifa there because BFF >:
